Syncing users

Pull your people in from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 instead of typing them.

Find it at Users → Sync Users

Once the directory is connected, this brings the accounts across so you do not have to create anyone by hand. It lists the people found in your directory and creates the matching nCapsule users.

Running a sync

1 Connect the directory first, if you have not already — see Connecting Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
2 Go to Users → Sync Users.
3 Review the people listed, then run the sync.

Syncing again later

Run the sync whenever people join. It brings across new accounts rather than replacing what is already here, so the settings and group membership you have configured are preserved.

New users arrive with restrictions off

Synced accounts start with no restrictions applied, exactly like a manually created user — being in your directory does not put them under your sign-in rules. Put them in a group, or use Bulk Manage Users, to bring them under your rules.

Licences

Each synced user takes a licence. If your directory has more people than your licence count allows, the sync brings across as many as it can — check My Subscription before a large import.
